It was one of the best bouts of 2021 – and one of the most controversial finishes. Now Jermell Charlo and Brian Castano run it back, with the winner to walk away as the undisputed 154-pound champion.

Castano (17-0-2, 12 KOs) outlanded his opponent and appeared to have done enough to walk away with all four belts when he faced Charlo (34-1-1, 18 KOs) last year.

But the fight went to a split draw, with one judge in particular – judge Nelson Vazquez – igniting controversy when he scored the fight 117–111 for Charlo.

Now Charlo, the IBF, WBA (super), and WBC super welterweight champion, and takes on WBO belt-holder Castano, in a massive evening of action in California.

The winner will become the first undisputed champion at junior middleweight in the four-belt boxing era.

“I promise you, I’m going to make him pay for everything that he has said and everything that happened in the first fight,” Castano said. “I’m going to break him and I’m going to make him suffer. And that’s all that matters. It doesn’t matter if it’s in front of one, two, three hundred, or 20,000 people. What I have my sights set on is him and only him — me and him inside the ring, that’s all.”

Regardless of who wins, Tim Tszyu is set to face the winner in a massive opportunity for the Australian boxer.

Tim Tszyu is HUNGRY for a title! | 01:50

Welterweight rising star Jaron Ennis made it 27 knockouts in his incredible undefeated career with a staggering second-round defeat of previously unbeaten 34-year-old Custio Clayton.

Clayton had never been knocked out in his 19-0-1 career – and had only been knocked down once prior.

But Ennis showed his superb power when a jab then an overhand right in the second round landed just behind Clayton’s ear.

“I’m just trying to perfect my craft,” he said. “I keep telling y’all, every single time… my slogan: ‘We in and out like a rout’… we don’t get paid for overtime.”

Clayton managed to get to his feet just before the 10 second mark but his equilibrium had been absolutely shattered and he wobbled across the ring before the referee waved it off.

“I seen him get up and he fell over there and I knew it was over,” Ennis said.

“Anybody can get it right now but I’m the IBF number one contender,” he declared, eyeing a title shot with three-belt champion Errol Spence Jnr.

Ennis is now 29-0 with 1 no contest.
